Today is one of two National Son’s Day (The other being March 4). NSD was nationally recognized in 2018 and social media decided to declare Sept. 28 as National Son’s Day as well. Most think the switch up between the dates was because the September date is closer to National Daughter’s Day.

Quality Time Ideas

  • Cook a favorite meal: Make your son’s favorite dinner together or dine out at a restaurant he loves.
  • Share an activity: Go to a movie, visit a museum, play a video game, or practice a sport you both enjoy.
  • Connect from afar: If your son lives in another city, set up a long phone call or a video chat to catch up.
  • Reminisce: Look through old family photo albums and talk about happy memories.

Meaningful Gestures

  • Have a heart-to-heart: Talk about his goals, listen to his thoughts, and offer guidance.
  • Share appreciation: Send a text or post a thoughtful message online using the hashtag #NationalSonsDay.
  • Teach a new skill: Pass down a practical life skill or bond while working on a hands-on project together.
